MRSA

 MRSA (pronounced “mersa”), which stands for Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus, is an infection is caused by Staphylococcus Aureus. It’s a strain of staph bacteria that’s resistant to the broad-spectrum antibiotics commonly used to treat it.

MRSA is difficult to treat and can be fatal. The elderly and people with weakened immune systems have a higher risk of being infected with MRSA.
